NATURAL BUSHLAND LIVING
The brief for this project was to provide this growing family with additional space. The open plan design has been crafted to maximise views from the living area of surrounding bushland across an easterly aspect, nestled in an elevated suburb of Launceston. Upon entering the home via the newly installed Tasmanian Oak staircase, the living area expanded to twice its size, with a strong focus on comfort and functionality. The polished hardwood floors accentuated the natural aesthetics and enhanced the warmth of the living area.
A creative aspect of the design brief included converting the existing carport to create an additional bedroom. A new carport was constructed to accommodate parking using ample space available to the southern end of the property, closely accessible to the front door.
The outcomes of this living area included:
- 1. Improved Functionality: The renovation improved the layout and organisation of the space, making it more comfortable for dining, meal preparation and creating a defined living area.
- 2. Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal: The extension updated the look of the property and was clad in Axon Sycon compressed sheeting in Colorbond Wallaby. It created a fresh and modern appearance, tying it nicely into the surrounding bushland.
- 3. Increased Home Value: The renovation was a worthwhile investment; it increased the resale value of the home by making it more attractive to potential buyers.
- 4. Energy Efficiency: Underfloor insultation was installed in the property as well as double glazed windows, improving the energy efficiency of the property.
